Second time is the charm for dog-owner Gordy Jamison, who received a citation for this occurrence. This is the second time his dog, a mixed Chow, has bitten a child. You would think he would learn after paying for a leash law violation and having his pooch quarantined for 10 days after the first instance. Hopefully he'll be quarantined after the second.

School system to cut funds for restaurant

The Ticonderago County school system is planning to cut funding for The Eatery, a school-run restaurant that allows special-education students to get experience working in the food industry. The move will save the schools up to $50,000 a year. The school system seems to be comfortable cutting the 80 relationships The Eatery has with other Midville-area restaurants to get their special-needs students jobs.

Man dies of heart attack at Subway Central

Restaurant patron John Barker died of a heart attack after an automobile crashed through the front window of Subway Central restaurant. Barker was taken to Memorial Hospital upon complaining of chess pains, although he was not hit by the car driven by 82-year-old Annie Coulter.

Will coaching change prove successful?

After a 12-year career, Rickey Rust is resigning as head baseball coach for Ticonderoga County, not by choice. Rust is a proven winner with a track record of district titles and district tournament wins, boasting an average of 15 wins a season. I'm not sure this was the right move by County, as they are going from experience to lack of. No one has been named as Rust's replacement, which leaves me quite skeptical of the team's chances.

Ticonderoga is still in the stone ages. They’re fighting a losing battle on the federal level and evidence of this can be found after round one of delegations at the Supreme Court. The county has no angle on the defendant other than he hadn’t actually visited the county enough to be offended by the religious statues. Now everyone non-religious has been offended by Ticonderoga County.

Elizabeth City to vote yes or no on hotel

Although not initially on the ballot, a referendum has made its way on. Facing voters is a yes/no decision that would approve public funds for a new downtown hotel and convention center. It will be on the June 5 ballot, and restricting it to city residents only is a conservative, yet practical, motion. It is good to see the strong support of the local government in on this project, and expect to see a high voter turnout.
